LAURA BIVOLARU
Inheriting the Interstice (2017-18)

Family photographs from 1990-2000 are returned home, in Romania, on the site of inter-generational cohabitation. Here meaning and identities have been forged over the years. Now the reshaped images prompt a process of remembering, negotiating, collaborating. The photogaphic in-between is aligned to the home’s corners, the domestic meeting points of two dimensions. Thus the space confronts both itself and the human presence that has altered it and has given it meaning.
